1.).
I GUARANTEE MY WORK!
How can I do that? I am so confident that I can institute positive improvements that if, after 1 hour with a child, you do not see the child connect or improve, I only ask for mileage reimbursement.
I understand that not all children will connect with me, and I will be the first to let you know if I don't feel I can influence positive change.
2.)
EXPERIENCE I have nearly 10 years experience working with children (ages1-21) on the Autism Spectrum; in classrooms, at camps and in private homes. Previously, I spent nearly 20 years as a Prevention and Training Specialist in Human/Social Services. (For vitae see http://www.linkedin.com/in/autismplay.) I am PLAY Project trained (Floortime), First Aid and CPR certified, NVCPI certified, and have a B.S. degree in Psychology from Central Michigan University.
In addition, I have a 21 year old niece on the severe end of the Spectrum and all three of our boys went through the "alphabet soup" of IEPs. Although none are on the Spectrum, I understand the personal grief that parents go through when their child is diagnosed with ANY disorder.
I also understand the frustration of educators when they have so many different types of kids in a classroom, AND need to address each of their individual needs, as well as chart improvement, meet IEP goals and keep the room a safe and nurturing place.

3.)
LOW FEES! Families with children on the Spectrum spend much of their available resources on the various interventions that are available for their children. I do not want to add to that burden, but wish to provide
relief and hope for the families with whom I work.
This work is my passion and I am eager to share it.
